Dreamscape Designs Terms Of Service
(Last Updated: April 2, 2006)
Note: Dreamscape Designs is best veiwed in Internet Explorer at a 1024 x 768 screen resolution.
Posting Behavior
Profanity should be used in moderation. The best thing you can do is censor yourself by replacing every letter of the word with special characters. (E.g. "*****" Or "&%#@!") There is no need for anyone to use curse words constantly. It is fine if you are expressing and putting emphasis on an emotion, but curses shouldn't be used after every other word.
Avoid posting in any way that will offend or connect to any race, sexual orientation, or religion. If you think what your posting may cause some sort of harm to anyone from said groups, don't post it. Rather be safe than sorry. Don't use asterisks to censor what you are going to say, depending on you intentions, but the best thing to do is avoid any of those issues or words.
This is not a chat room. Excessive chat speak is not wanted here! Spell out your words, use capitalization and punctuation. I'm not going to yell at you if you mis-spell a word, that is understandable. Proper capitalization and punctuation should be used. I don't want to see, "U r sooo kewl." Type of speech, it gets annoying and some people might not be able to catch the drift.
We do not allow any sexually explicit material in any posts. No sexual activities displayed in text. No pornographic or nude pictures in any posts. This rule is very important and these acts will not be tolerated. A permanent ban awaits anyone who does this.
No spamming. Your posts must have a point and a meaning. We don't want long strains of "Lol..." posts all over the forums. Posts praising someone for their graphic ability or commenting on a funny joke are fine. The judgment of what is considered spam, is only up to Dreamscape staff.
Do not advertise your forum. Creating threads telling people to join your forum or promoting your website are strictly forbidden and will be deleted. When you register, you have the option to put your homepage into your profile. Also placing a link to your site in your signature. Members are allowed to place the link to their site into their signature. As long as the member doesn't post spam to get their signature seen.
No bashing any member. If they said something that you didn't like, ignore it, in order to make sure we don't have fights breaking out. If someone is threatening you through private Message, contact me immediately. Such actions will not be tolerated. I understand if someone's beliefs may get you angry, it has happened to me before, just refrain from attacking them, they have opinions too. That also ties in with gang bashing, do not gang up on any member, in any way what-so-ever. If you do feel as if you are being ganged up on, contact me or a moderator, and we/I will sort out the problem. Trolling or attempting to bait others into a flame war will never be tolerated. Any posts we deem to fall into this category will be deleted.
Hot linking And Hosting Images
Hot linking images is strictly forbidden. Hot linking means to copy the Url of someone else's image and post it somewhere for other people to see, or using it in anyway. This steals bandwidth from the person which may cause the image you are using to go down. You must host all images yourself. This means avatars, and signatures and any filled request images. Some good free image hosting services: www.photobucket.com - www.villagephotos.com - www.imageshack.us .
If for any reason you are not able to host your own avatar, than please contact me and I will host it for you.
If I find a hot linked image I will simply edit the post. We all make mistakes of course but if I find a user that repeatedly hot links images, than I will have no choice but to ban the user from the forums permanently.
Signature Limits
Please do not use a signature image that is larger than 525 pixels width. Due to the fact that people have different screen resolutions. We don't want signatures that stretch the board. If I find a signature that stretches the screen, I will remove it.
Your Account
Your account is your own, not someone elses. Any known sharing of one account will result in a ban from the forum. You don't have to pay to be in the forum so there will be no need for sharing accounts anywhere on the board.
Remember, you joined the forums for a reason, don't join if you don't plan to contribute, if you join, and after two weeks without posting or contacting me to tell me your whereabouts, you will be deleted, If you feel as if you want to join again, feel free, with aspirations of posting of course. These are just some ways to keep the boards clean, and organized.
In The Event That This Thread Becomes Unlocked, Do Not Post Here. Doing So Will Result In A Ban From The Forums.
